ANDREA CONNELL

Clinician- LISW-S

Andrea (she/her) is a therapist serving children, teens, and adults. She has spent most
of her career working with children and families across a variety of settings; many years
of working within the foster care and child welfare system has provided a strong
background in trauma-informed care and interventions. She also has experience
working in early childhood intervention, community mental health, in hospitals, and as
an educator to adult learners.
Andrea’s approach to therapy involves creating a nonjudgmental and supportive space,
and to serve as an empathetic catalyst to help her clients create and reach their
personal goals. Her practice is rooted in a person-centered, strengths-based
perspective, acknowledging systems of oppression and their effects on individuals and
families, and drawing on cognitive-behavioral and trauma-informed concepts. She
enjoys working with her clients with a variety of challenges including anxiety and
depression, women’s issues, life changes and adjustment, trauma, and more; she also
has a passion for supporting parents during the postpartum period.
Andrea has been a licensed independent social worker since 2010 and holds Bachelor’s
and Master’s degrees in social work from The Ohio State University.
