Lauren is a therapist that believes that therapy is a collaborative process, built on a secure attachment between the client and the therapist where safety is embodied and healing takes place. Lauren practices somatically, is polyvagal theory informed, supports clients in utilizing emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills, and emphasizes integrating and collaborating with all parts of the client’s self/personhood. Lauren is trained in and is passionate about EMDR therapy for processing traumatic exposures. Lauren utilizes somatic EMDR (which trusts the client's brain and body to lead them to healing and restoration) as a powerful, accurate, and effective tool for safe and body-based trauma treatment.
Lauren graduated from Simmons University in Boston, MA with a master's degree in clinical social work with a certificate of trauma practice.
Lauren specializes in treating PTSD, developmental trauma, complex trauma, religious trauma, dissociative disorders, and suicidality.
