Sara Johnoff (she/her) is a licensed independent social worker who earned both her
Bachelor’s from Dominican University in River Forest, IL and Master’s degree in Social Work
from The Ohio State University. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, personalized, and
eclectic, with an emphasis on creating a safe, supportive and empathetic space.
Sara utilizes several different modalities with clients including strengths-based, trauma-
informed frameworks, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
Motivational Interviewing, Gottman Method and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She
believes in a personalized approach, utilizing the best evidenced based approach based on
individual needs of the client.
Sara has experience working with teens, adults, LGBTQ+ individuals and older adults in
both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, who are dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD,
life transitions, trauma, relationship distress, women’s issues, addiction, and more.
Outside of her work as a clinician, Sara enjoys running, traveling to different National
Parks, as well as music and spending time with family, friends and her pets.
