Carey Gargano achieved her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Capital University and a
master’s in social work from The Ohio State University. She has more than 10 years of
experience working in clinical settings like crisis, emergency and private practice. Carey is
versed in several different therapeutic modalities but starts with a solution focused approach
where a client’s strengths are highlighted. These strengths can be incorporated to reframe a
narrative and any self-defeating thoughts are replaced with positive affirmations. Carey
specializes in working with adolescents, adults and couples. She treats anxiety, depression,
mood and personality disorders. She is devoted to advocacy for women and self-compassion.
